Kent’s chances of giving some of their fringe players a much needed run out were thwarted by the rain on Thursday.
Having started the three day game against Oxford MCCU on Wednesday, Kent were hoping to get a full day in again on Thursday, but relentless drizzle put the day’s play out of the question.
Umpires Nigel Duguid and Richard Illingworth had no choice but to abandon the day’s play without a ball being bowled and Kent will now be hoping for better weather on Friday when the two teams return to The Parks.
The home side will resume on 50 for 2 after Kent declared on 251 for 8 with Alex Blake top scoring on 97 with Scott Newman having scored 87.
